BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
Been in radio for many years, and have worked many formats including Country, Classic Country, Classic Rock, Classic Hits, Oldies, AC, Lite AC and Top 40.
1) What do you do to maintain a positive mental attitude and to stay motivated?
Staying busy in the yard, keeping positive thoughts and thinking forward not backwards and prayer.
2) How are you occupying your time, besides looking for a job?
Mentoring youth, acting with the local little theater, staying active in church and playing with my dogs and puppies.
3) Some people get discouraged or enlightened with the business when they actually step out of it for a while. Tell us your observations from the outside.
It's a little discouraging sometimes but I'm staying positive about my next adventure.
4) Do you plan on sticking with radio?
Yes--it's my life.
5) What's the longest stretch you've had on the beach?
About six months.
6) What's the best way to get your foot in the door?
Just be positive. Also follow up with people that you have sent your resumes to.
7) What has been your best resource for finding out about job openings?
8) What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get a job?
I don't do much crazy things I'm a straightforward guy.
9) What is the next job you'd like to obtain?
I just want to be on the air somewhere, maybe as program director or production manager.
10) Are you finding salaries/benefits lower than you ever thought, about the same, or have you seen some pleasant surprises?
Lower.
