Please begin by giving us a brief career history ...
WKRH-WKRL-WKLL (K-ROCK)/Syracuse-Utica, NY
WAQX (95X)/Syracuse, NY
WJXQ (Q106)/Lansing, MI1) What do you do to maintain a positive mental attitude and stay motivated?
Well I guess you just have to take it day by day... and wake up expecting the best. WOW, was that the all-American athlete answer or what?
2) How are you occupying your time, besides looking for a job?
Right now...bartending and playing pick-up softball.
3) Do you plan on sticking with the music/radio industry?
If it's up to me...HELL YEAH!
4) What's the best way to get your foot in the door?
It's different for every door you put your foot into. There is always a way to get your foot in the door... it's just how long you keep it there that matters.
5) What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get a job?
Radio station Winter Olympics garbage bag sledding, bumper skiing ... you name it, I've done it ...as long as its fun and nothing gets broken, and that's negotiable.
6) What is the next job you'd like to obtain?
Nights on a Rock station, but I am willing to do anything to get there.
7) With consolidation there are definitely fewer jobs. How do you separate yourself from the pack?
I like to think that I am separate form the pack since I am willing to and can do anything. Nine times out of 10 people will agree ... all I ask is for a chance.
8) Are you able to slow down and enjoy free time doing things with your family and friends that you probably did not have time to do while you were working?
Of course now I can ... radio is a lifestyle, not just a job.
9) If you were offered a similar position to what you were doing for considerably less money, would you seriously consider taking the job just to stay in the biz?
More than likely ... depending on the location.
10) Having been through all you have dealt with in this biz, what advice would you give people trying to break in?
Never say no ... especially trying to break into the industry.
Bonus Questions
BONUS QUESTION: Oprah or Dr. Phil?
Oprah, because she has done a lot of good with her money recently. But If I had to choose pick one to watch on TV ... I would defiantly find something else on. Plus Dr. Phil hates men.
