Please begin by giving us a brief career history ...
I began writing, producing and voicing radio spots in college, and had numerous successful radio ad campaigns. 1. What do you do to maintain a positive mental attitude and stay motivated?
I read my favorite motivational book at least five mornings a week, plus jog and pump iron.
2. How are you occupying your time, besides looking for a job?
I wrote a motivational book and will soon be a "published author," plus I've been putting together a "positively motivating" TV talk show that I'm pitching to investors.
3. Some people get discouraged or enlightened with the business when they actually step out of it for a while. Tell us your observations from the outside.
I'm discouraged when I see some of the big conglomerates that have no local touch, but enlightened when I see those that "think nationally but act locally." (Yes, that is an original quote.)
4. What has been your best resource for finding out about job openings?
All Access and the local state broadcaster's association websites. JobsByFax.com is also a great website service to use.

Circumvented the HR Director and went directly to the owner.
6. What is the next job you'd like to obtain?
I'd really like to do a mix of on-air and promotions.
7. What's the most unbelievable question you've ever been asked in an interview?
Would I work for 25K a year!
8. Are you spending as much time listening to radio as you used to?
Yeah, although I now mix my day with more Talk radio.
9. What has been your biggest career accomplishment?
It's a toss-up between the station of which I was the Regional Manager being nominated for Station of the Year at NRB as well as NAB, and becoming the #3 station in our market.
10. Where do you see yourself in five years? 10 years?
Five years -- doing talk radio and a television show. Ten years -- doing the same, plus touring the speaking circuit promoting my books.
