Blame My Youth is Sean Van Vleet, who is a former principal songwriter in Chicago indie rock band Empires. Prior to forming Blame My Youth, Van Vleet expanded into the world of songwriting and syncs, providing music for major artists and ads worldwide. "Fantastic" is the big anthemic lead single from Blame My Youth out now via Nashville's Big Loud Rock imprint. The video has over 3.5 million streams and has hit the top 10 on VEVO's Rock and Alternative charts.
"With this song I get to tell the story of my life in about 2 minutes,” said Van Vleet. "The first lines of the chorus hit my brain one morning like a mainline of coffee, I got instant PMA. Got me out of bed feeling refreshed. Fantastic set the tone for a lot of good days, even if I was feeling bad."
Blame My Youth has released two additional songs. "Right Where You Belong" was written and recorded exclusively for the Grammy Nominated Sundtrack to Bill And Ted Face The Music. The song played during the movie's closing credits and marked the debut of the Blame My Youth. Most recently, Van Fleet teamed with producer Joey Moi on the song, "Dance With My Demons." Blame My Youth is currently working on a debut album.
Van Fleet's former band, Empires released two albums and three EPs during a seven year run that began in 2008. The band played at Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza.
