Adelitas Way
Sep 26, 2011
Adelitas Way was formed in 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada by lead vocalist Rick DeJesus, lead guitarist Chris Iorio and drummer Trevor Stafford. During a road trip to Los Angeles, Rick and a buddy took a detour to San Diego, and when Rick woke up from a nap in the back of the van, the two were getting arrested in Mexico. Corrupt cops robbed his friend, but Rick stowed 20 bucks away in his sock when he witnessed the robbery. The cops saw that Rick had no money on him so; they mugged him and took off. Freaked out, the friends went to the first bar they saw in Tijuana to have a beer and calm their nerves. It was the Adelita Bar.
In the fall of 2008, the band got signed to their first ever major-label, Virgin Records. After inking with Virgin Records, Rick DeJesus, and drummer Trevor Stafford headed for Groovemaster Studios in Chicago where producer Johnny K awaited their arrival. Before the band started touring in support of their new record, the band expanded with the additions of a permanent bassist in Derek Johnston and an additional guitarist/vocalist, Keith Wallen. On April 17, 2009, their album's first single "Invincible" became available via download through iTunes. Their self-titled debut album was released on July 14, 2009 and the single was also featured on the video game, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 and is currently the official theme song for the WWE show: WWE Superstars.
Their second and most recent album Home School Valedictorian was released on June 7, 2011 and their first single off the albums "Sick" hit #1 at active rock, and #36 at Modern Rock radio.
