Trapt

California rock band Trapt are doing things differently these days. After making five albums, Amalgamation (1999), Trapt (2002), Someone in Control (2005), Only Through the Pain (2008) and No Apologies (2010) the band is back with a new album entitled Reborn due out on November 20th. Trapt is composed of lead singer Chris Taylor Brown, lead guitarist Travis Miguel (From Atreyu), and bass guitarist Peter Charell. While working on the new record, Chris Taylor Brown ran into an interesting source of inspiration. He got inspired to add an electronic element to the trademark Trapt sound. "On this new record there's going to be a lot of stuff that's not mellow per se but it's going to be more atmospheric and more melodic," said the Trapt front man.
The new album is exciting for Trapt but the next chapter for the band is just as exciting. After years of following the music business model, the band is going independent and doing things on their own. Initially the band was thinking about signing with a label but that changed when they discovered that they could put an album out on their own. The first song from the album, released back on December 7th is "Bring It". A second single titled "Love Hate Relationship'" was released on iTunes on October 2nd.
A link was posted Brown's personal Facebook page back on September 10th giving fans a two song medley for a limited time only of the songs "Experience & Love Hate Relationship", stating that it was only for his personal page supporters as a thank you for doing so. A day later, Trapt posted again a two song medley on Trapts Official Facebook page, that consisted of the track "Livewire" & "Love Hate Relationship" as a thank you to fans for helping "Bring It" on its journey through radio.
