Three Days Grace is a Canadian band formed in 1992. They released their fourth studio album on October 2nd 2012 which is entitled Transit of Venus via RCA Records. After a breakup in late 1995, the band regrouped in 1997 under its current name and with a lineup consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Matt Walst, drummer and the backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band's lead guitarist. Up until just a week ago, Adam Gontier was their frontman but he had to leave the group due to a health issue. Three Days Grace has released four studio albums, each at three-year intervals: Three Days Grace in 2003, One-X in 2006, Life Starts Now in 2009 and the most current, Transit of Venus. The albums have been certified platinum, double platinum, and gold, respectively, in the United States. The band has a string of number one Alternative and Rock songs.
The group's newest single, "Chalk Outline" buzzes with airy distortion and warbling textures before building into one of their catchiest hooks yet - "You left me there like a chalk outline, waiting for the rain to wash away." Several tracks on the album address powerful feelings of loss, whether it's betrayal like on "Bitter Taste" and "Last To Know," or death, on "World So Cold" and "Without You"- songs that bassist Brad Walst says "really hit close to home." The group has remained a modern rock leader, bringing together arena-size riffs and soaring hooks with elegantly vibrant lyrics and powerful rhythms. Three Days are preparing for their upcoming co-headlining tour with SHINEDOWN, which kicks off February 1st.
