Atreyu
Jan 11, 2010
Fresh off a successful U.S. co-headline tour with Hollywood Undead, eclectic Orange County, CA, rockers Atreyu plan to bring in 2010 in an even more exciting fashion kicking the year off with a quick stop in Japan, then embarking on a stateside winter tour with their longtime peers, The Used.
"We are very excited and pleased to be hitting the road with our friends, The Used," says Atreyu frontman Alex Varkatzas. "They are a great band and a great bunch of people. They took us on tour several years ago and we had a blast. Needless to say we're looking forward to putting on an amazing show and rocking with those guys again."
The winter tour dates with The Used start January 28th in Anaheim, CA. The concerts will run through February 26th in Birmingham, Alabama's Five Points Music Hall.
Atreyu will be on the road supporting their new album Congregation of the Damned, which debuted top 20 on the Billboard 200 chart and yielded the Top 15 Active Rock radio hit "Storm to Pass." In early 2010, Atreyu will launch the second single from the album.
In addition to preparing for Atreyu's latest tour, drummer and vocalist Brandon Saller will step out from behind his kit to take on lead vocal duties performing his debut solo show on January 14th at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California. Saller wrote many of the songs over the past year, and while Atreyu fans will recognize the brooding rhythms and euphoric melodies, the songs aren't as heavy; they're less informed by punk and metal and more inspired by classic rock and a little country.
"I've been working on these songs for a long time. I'm ecstatic to finally play them live," said Saller. "I think Chain Reaction is the perfect venue for an intimate first show. I have an amazingly talented band backing me and can't wait to share these songs."
Look for Saller to perform songs like "Find The Time To Breathe" and "Lonely in Love" with a star lineup that includes Good Charlotte guitarist Billy Martin, Aquabats guitarist Ian Fowles and Dead Country drummer Jarrod Alexander. Opening for Saller during the evening will be Endless Hallway, Beta Wolf, Stars Align and Dead Country.
