Industrial metal band, Device, will be releasing their first studio album on April 9th. The first song out now from the album is "Vilify" and it was introduced to radio on February 19th. The album will feature guest appearances by Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Black Country Communion), M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) and Lzzy Hale (Halestorm).
When asked about the debut album, lead singer, David Draiman revealed that "Device does several things. It implies intelligent design, the utilization of technology, and explosive nature." Those three statements will most certainly ring true for listeners as well. "This album is about touching different ends of the spectrum," he smiles. "Some moments are introspective and energizing, while others are mellow and pensive. I want everyone to be taken on an emotional roller coaster. Enjoy the ride."
Device was started by David Draiman, frontman of the hard rock group Disturbed. He went on to recruit Geno Lenardo, the former guitarist of Filter, and together they started to work on new material. The touring band contains drummer Will Hunt and guitarist Virus, but will not include Lenardo. The band's first live show is confirmed to be held at Tinker Field for WJRR's Earthday Birthday 20 on April 13th in Orlando, FL, along with other bands such as Stone Sour, Papa Roach and The Offspring.
