Bring Me The Horizon
Apr 7, 2013

British metalcore band, Bring Me the Horizon just released their fourth studio album, Sempiternal on April 1st via Epitaph Records. "Shadow Moses" was the first single out from the album. Written and recorded throughout 2012, Sempiternal shows the band's diverse influences from electronic music, ambient music and pop. The album's cover art is a depiction of the Flower of Life. It is the first album to feature keyboardist Jordan Fish and it is believed to be the last album to feature guitarist Jona Weinhofen. However, Weinhofen's role within the album's development has been faced with controversy.
Originally from Sheffield, Yorkshire, Bring Me The Horizon formed in 2004. The members consist of lead vocalist Oliver Sykes, lead guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish. They are currently signed to RCA Records globally and Epitaph Records exclusively in the US. While their earlier work is noted for its strong influence from American metalcore bands, they started to adopt a more eclectic style of metalcore in future releases. They have released four studio albums and two extended plays. The band's name is derived from the final line of the film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, in which Captain Jack Sparrow says "Now, bring me that horizon."
The band released their debut album Count Your Blessings in 2006 in the UK. Their second album, Suicide Season was released in 2008. Bring Me the Horizon's third studio album There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let's Keep It a Secret. was released in 2010. The band won the Best Video award at the 2012 Kerrang! Awards for their hit song "Alligator Blood".
The band has already been touring heavily this year. In February, they were at the Australian Soundwave festival, at RAMFest in South Africa with Rise Against in March, then at Rock Am Ring and Rock im Park festivals in Germany in June and from June till August they are playing the Warped Tour 2013 in the US and Canada. It has also been announced on the BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe show that they will be playing the Main Stage at Reading & Leeds Festivals on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
