Phoenix-based modern rock band Scoti*Slate released the single, "Sprockets" on March 19th. The band's full length debut for Bright Life Music / Universal, Good Fight, is certainly an assault on the senses. From the opening title track about living with regret to the single, "Sprockets" (touching on the subjects of over indulgence and selfish choices becoming the norm) and the spiced up "Little Head Fred". The quartet takes you through a variety of musical styles ranging from pop to hard rock to funk. Produced by Joshua Rumer and recorded at 7th Level Studios in Los Angeles, the band relied on their collective influences when it came to writing the album. Scoti*Slate members include Aaron Scoti (lead vocals), Lars Slate (guitars), Gregg Cash (bass) and Derek Upton (drums and percussion).
"We're all influenced by a wide range of artists from Van Halen to Prince, from Bowie to Queen and a little Beastie Boys thrown in for attitude," explains lead singer, Aaron Scoti, whose personal influences include John Bonham and Stuart Copeland. "I grew up as a drummer and I think not being influenced by vocalists helped me find my voice."
