DEVOUR THE DAY
Oct 20, 2013

Released on May 7th via Fat Lady Music, Time & Pressure is the new album by rock band, Devour The Day. From co-producing, writing and fulfilling every role musically, this duo are the driving force behind the entire album. The majority of the 11 tracks on Time & Pressure were written in the comfort of Devour The Day member, Joey's own home in Little Rock, Arkansas. Later these demos were perfected in Nashville at The Sound Kitchen, where the final touches were created. The first single, "Good Man", was released to radio on March 29th and it is a very emotional, therapeutic song; for a debut song especially. The song is currently getting heavy air play on hard rock formats throughout North America and Sirius XM radio channel Octane.
Devour the Day was born from the brain trust of former Egypt Central members Joey "Chicago" Walser (bass, backing vocals, songwriter) and Blake Allison, who steps out from behind the drum kit to sing lead vocals and play guitar, in addition to being a producer and co-songwriter. They formed the band after more than a year of inactivity from Egypt Central.
"Sometimes you need to take a step back and regroup before you can move forward," Walser says. "Blake and I have been working together as Egypt Central for over a decade, and we felt it was time to put that portion of our life on hiatus and create music truer to our influences. Our day-to-day experiences, personal and professional struggles, and relationships have molded the music of Devour The Day, and we entered the writing process 100 percent committed to delivering those truths. We make a conscious effort to leave our songs open to interpretation. There is nothing more gratifying than when a fan explains how our songs helped him or her through something. It's humbling."
