Rock band, Seether, recently revealed that their new and fifth studio album, Isolate and Medicate, is set to be released on July 1st with the lead single, "Words as Weapons" slated for release on May 1st. They began recording this new album at the end of January with Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen producer, Brendan O'Brien. This new disc follows up their 2011 album, Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray. Seether front-man, Shaun Morgan told us that he can't wait for the new album to come out.
"This album I think is very focused, and I think it's very reminiscent of our early stuff, but also having touches of sort of the more melodic side, and I mean, I think there's gonna be some stuff on there that people are gonna be quite surprised by. So I'm really excited for people to hear it."
In other band news, on April 29th, Bryan Wickmann, the band's long-time guitar tech, and former Art Director of Schecter Guitar Research., was announced as the new touring guitarist.
Hailing from South Africa, this post-grunge/alternative metal band was founded in 1999 in Pretoria. Originally, they were formed under the name "Saron Gas" until renaming it to "Seether" in 2002. Disclaimer is their original album and major label debut. They gained mainstream popularity in 2004 with the single "Broken" which peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, and have continued moderate success with #1 hits on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart such as "Remedy", "Fake It", and "Country Song"
Seether just launched a headlining tour, with support from Black Stone Cherry and Skindred, that pulled into Mobile, Alabama on April 24th. The tour will include Seether's own Rise Above Fest on May 10th in Bangor, Maine, which will feature performances from Avenged Sevenfold, Hellyeah, Motorhead and more.
