"Something From Nothing" is the lead single and first song on Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways album, due on November 10th. At the very end of the premier episode of Foo Fighters' new HBO series, they featured a brand new lyric video for this single. This upcoming eighth album was recorded in eight different studios in eight different cities, with musical icons from each city sitting in on each track, respectively. And, of course, that entire process was filmed for an upcoming eight-part HBO documentary series. Along with the Foos and their musical guests, the televised Sonic Highways series will feature interviews with people like Dolly Parton, Macklemore, and President Barack Obama. According to Foo Fighters front man, Dave Grohl, this album is the "most ambitious album".
Formed in Seattle in 1994, Foo Fighters was founded by Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl. Along with Grohl, the band's current members include Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel and Taylor Hawkins. As of May 2014, the band's seven albums have sold a combined 11.1 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
