Fit For Rivals

Jacksonville's rock quintet, Fit for Rivals, have released their latest single, "Freak Machine". It's an instantly catchy track with a steady groove and constant build-up. For the video, the band called on their fans to submit photos of their freak machine faces. Fit For Rivals recently signed with Big 3 Records and are scheduled to release their second studio album through them later this year entitled Freak Machine. The album was produced by Gavin Brown (Metric, Billy Talent, Lady Gaga).
"A 'freak machine' can be any number of things," front-woman Renee Phoenix explains. "It can have a sexual connotation, an empowering meaning that sets you apart from others, or simply a crazy robot as seen in our last music video for 'Hit Me.' In our song, I meant it in a sexual way, but take it as you will. 'Freak Machine' is one of the most fun songs to perform live and really gets the crowd moving - as well as myself, with awkward dancing," she goes on. "Our new material is definitely more dynamic, and we hope that our fans can have some fun with this one."
Fit For Rivals formed in 2008 when Renee Phoenix met Thomas Amason while looking for a new guitarist for her band The Explicits. From there, they decided to set up a whole new project. Their debut album, Steady Damage, was released independently in 2009. The band consists of Renee Phoenix (vocals), Thomas Amason (guitar), Eli Clark (bass), Rufino Lomboy (guitar), Duke Kitchens (guitar) and Trey Catman (drums).
They are currently on the 2015 Snocore Tour with FlyLeaf, Adelita's Way and Framing Hanley.
