Singer-songwriter, Chris Cornell will be releasing his fifth studio album, "Higher Truth" on September 20th. It will be his first solo material in six years. With this collection, Cornell hopes to showcases his constant evolution as a master songwriter, lyricist and musical craftsman - telling stories that are extremely relatable, which transcend musical genres. The album includes twelve songs, with an additional four bonus songs for those who buy the deluxe addition of the album. It was produced by Brendan O'Brien, who served as mixer on Soundgarden's "Superunknown" before becoming a go-to rock producer.
Cornell is a Multiple Grammy Award-winning, Golden Globe Nominated and acclaimed musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist, primary songwriter and rhythm guitarist for the Seattle rock band, Soundgarden and as the former lead vocalist and songwriter for the supergroup Audioslave. Cornell is also known for his role as one of the architects of the 90s grunge movement, for his extensive catalog as a songwriter and for his near 4 octave vocal range as well as his powerful vocal belting technique. He has released three solo studio albums, Euphoria Morning (1999), Carry On (2007), Scream (2009), and live album Songbook (2011). He was voted "Rock's Greatest Singer" by readers of Guitar World, ranked 4th in the list of "Heavy Metal's All-Time Top 100 Vocalists" by Hit Parader, 9th in the list of 'Best Lead Singers Of All Time' by Rolling Stone and 12th in "MTV's 22 Greatest Voices in Music".
Two days after his album, "Higher Truth" is released, Cornell will hit the road for a long solo jaunt that kicks off September 20th at Los Angeles' Walt Disney Concert Hall. The tour will conclude November 2nd with a performance at Austin, Texas' Moody Theater for Austin City Limits.
