Political Racket /Dirty Tricks:
House Republicans are getting ready to vote on a bill that would stop a federal phase-out of run-of-the-mill incandescent light bulbs, in favor of more eco-friendly alternatives. Republicans will bring up the measure on Monday under suspension of the rules, which requires a two-thirds vote and prohibits amendments.
Conservatives view the phase-out of regular bulbs a prime example of big government. But some on both sides of the aisle are also worried about the move toward compact flourescent bulbs, whicn contain small levels of mercury that could contaminate a home if a bulb breaks. (Pacelli)Fast Food:

Designer Update:
Designer KARL LAGERFELD has a weird side-project going on: making a line of high-end pens that use nail polish for ink.
Women’s Wear Daily says the polish is mixed with ink to create a “burgundy lacquer.” Apparently, drawing with nail polish is a thing with Lagerfeld. He’s famous for always using a Japanese brand of nail polish to when he sketches his designs.
He’s working with a French luxury-goods company to make the writing instruments. There’s no word yet on how much the Lagerfeld nail polish pens will cost, but the company that’s making them has other pens that cost around two thousand dollars. (Bartha)Cops & robbers:
