Space:

On the anniversary of man landing on the moon, the Space Shuttle Atlantis is on its way home for the last time... scheduled to land early tomorrow morning in Florida.

Taking everything much too seriously:

Congratulations to the newest Guinness Book record holder, 21-year-old JUSTIN WERNER of Topeka, KS, proud owner of the world's largest tonsils.
He had them taken out last January and one of them measured 2.1 inches long, 1.1 inches wide, and 0.7 inch thick while the other measured 1.9 inches long, 1 inch wide and 0.7 inch thick. That's 0.8 inches and 0.6 inches longer, respectively, than the previous record, held by some dude in Wisconsin.
Werner told the Topeka Capital Journal the reason he had them taken out was to get rid of his snoring. He doesn't snore anymore, and doesn't suffer sore throat anymore, either. (Maiman)

The soundtrack for the "Glee 3D Concert Movie" will be out on August 9th. That's a few days before the movie opens in theaters on August 12th. 23 songs from the film are on the soundtrack, which was recorded during the "Glee Live! In Concert!" tour. That includes covers of hits by JOURNEY, KATY PERRY, PINK, PAUL McCARTNEY and others. Word is GWYNETH PALTROW will be covering CEE-LO's "Forget You." (Marino)

Stars and their movies:

LIAM NEESON has a new project in the works. In "The Grey," he'll play the leader of a bunch of steel-tough oil rig workers who crash-land in the Alaskan wilderness on their way to a job on the Alaskan pipeline.
The story begins there, with their fight to survive in the Alaskan wilderness.
A brutal, face-to-face meeting with SARAH PALIN is not apparently in the plot.

The cast of the "Lone Ranger" movie now includes DWIGHT YOAKAM. Variety.com says the country music star will play Butch Cavendish, the leader of the Cavendish gang and the film's main bad guy. ARMIE HAMMER is the Lone Ranger, with JOHNNY DEPP as Tonto. The film will be out on December 21st, 2012. (Marino)

Man Bites Dog, Dep't:

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. A Chihuahua foiled a robbery attempt at a smoke shop in Los Angeles.
The owner was removing money from the register when the tiny dog arrived on the scene, barking and jumping on the robbers' legs. One robber pointed his rifle at the dog, before thinking better of it and running away instead; the dog then chased the robbers onto the street. Neither the dog nor the owner was hurt in the attack. The suspects, who still made off with some money, remain at large.

There’s a new clothing website that calls itself “Netflix for baby clothes.” It’s designed for parents who are sick of buying brand new kids’ clothes just before a growth spurt.
The website is called Plum. Racked.com says “the clothes come in cute bundles... of two, four or seven outfits at a time.” It requires a monthly subscription. Plans range from $16 to $49 a month. For that, you get one free round of shipping each month. But if you need more clothes in a single month, there’s a $7.95 shipping charge. (Bartha)
