Divorce court:
The honeymoon's over for JIM CARREY's daughter, JANE. People magazine reports the 24-year-old singer/songwriter filed for divorce from ALEX SANTANA last week and wants to share custody of their one-year-old son, JACKSON. The two married in November of 2009 and separated last October. (Lee)
Baby brigade:
The "Sister Wives" family has another mouth to feed. RadarOnline.com reports KODY BROWN's fourth wife, ROBYN, welcomed dad's 17th child to the family last Wednesday. Little SOLOMON BROWN was born at home in Las Vegas, tipped the scale at nine-pounds, ten-ounces and is 22-inches-long. Kody now has 13 children with his wives CHRISTINE, JANELLE and his actual legal wife, MERI. Robyn brings in three children from another marriage. (Lee)
Quotable: "Only two more and they'll have caught up with the DUGGARS and their 19 kids." (Zap2It.com)Expecting:
JAMES VAN DER BEEK is going to be hearing the pitter-patter of little feet for quite some time. The "Dawson's Creek" cutie "tweeted" the news that his girlfriend, KIMBERLY, is pregnant with their second child. The couple just celebrated their daughter OLIVIA turning one, so things will be busy with two-under-two. The proud papa admits they're "humbled" by the news and thought they "couldn't be more blessed." (Lee)
Expecting, part II:
DEMI MOORE may be falling apart, but her ex-husband, BRUCE WILLIS, is better than ever! The action star's rep confirmed to Us Weekly that his wife, EMMA HEMING, is pregnant and the two are expecting a baby early next year. This will be the missus' first child while Bruce has three daughters with Demi, Rumer, who's 23, Scout, who's 20, and Tallulah, who's 17. Bruce and Emma have been married since 2009. (Lee)
Expecting, part III:
Congrats to Dallas Cowboys quarterback TONY ROMO, whose wife of five months, CANDICE CRAWFORD, is expecting their first child together. Candice, in case you've forgotten, is a former Miss USA contestant and the sister of “Gossip Girl” star CHACE CRAWFORD. People magazine reports that Tony broke the news during a visit to a high school outside Dallas yesterday. When a student asked him whether he had children, Tony blabbed, “I’ve actually got one on the way. My wife’s pregnant.” Hey, thanks for sharing.
Expecting, part four:
Remember RACHEL UCHITEL, who was one of the women who was having an affair with TIGER WOODS, and actor DAVID BOREANAZ? She made headlines earlier this month for getting a quickie marriage to MATT HAHN, a San Francisco businessman, and we may know why Life & Style Weekly reports she's pregnant with her first child.
The back story is that she was rewarded with the news about the baby after taking a drug test in order to audition for the reality show, "The Amazing Race." An "insider" says the couple were surprised when the test came back positive. The President at play:
Major relief may be on the way for college students and graduates struggling to pay student loans.
PRESIDENT OBAMA announced plans yesterday in Denver to allow students more time to repay what they owe, lower their payments and consolidate.
The new rules cap the maximum repayment at 10 percent of discretionary income as of 2012. Remaining debt will be forgiven after 20 years, instead of 25. And borrowers with outstanding loans from two federal programs will be able to consolidate their debt into a single loan.
The plan won't help everybody, though. If you have private loans, you'll be at the mercy of your lender, and generally, those loans don't come with repayment plans, forgiveness options and other options that come with federal student loans.
Meanwhile, the College Board released new figures yesterday showing that average in-state tuition at public colleges rose 8.3 percent, putting the cost of a full credit load at more than $8-thousand, an all-time high.
Student loans are the second largest household debt, second only to the mortgage.
Editor's note: Student loan forgiveness is just a tax increase in disguise. Taxpayers will have to make up the difference at a future date for the inevitable defaults. We lose doubly by having to support a higher education system that turns out too many graduates we don't need and produces too few graduates that we do need. (Maiman)Halloween Costumes:
Wotta surprise! That Spirit Halloween store chain reports their biggest seller this season is (wait for it...) the CHARLIE SHEEN costume. The Sheen masks, wigs and “winning” or "Charlie's Goddess" t-shirts are selling out, and TMZ.com reports Charlie's getting a cut off of everything you buy, so he's laughing all the way to the bank.
Halloween Fun & Games:
It's a great way to while away the hours at work. Play Halloween Hangman (now available for iOS and Android devices, too)!

Like you didn't notice there was no winner in Wednesday night's drawing for the Powerball Lottery. That means Saturday night's drawing is valued at $203 million ($123.2 million cash value). Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington DC and the U-S Virgin Islands. Chances of winning the grand prize (all five numbers plus the powerball) are 1 in 195.2 million.
