Designer Update:
KATY PERRY is launching a line of false eyelashes next month. The line will be sold at Ulta stores starting next month. She’s working with the Eylure company, and the line will feature four varieties of falsies. No word on how different each variety of eyelashes will be, but the company said on its Twitter feed that Katy’s line will be “a direct extension of her own personal style.”
Editor’s Note: So expect some blue, blonde and pink lashes. To match her hair. (Bartha)Trash talk and satellite dish:
Things are getting ugly between MARC ANTHONY and JENNIFER LOPEZ. Friends tell RadarOnline.com the cougar made a remark to her ex about not being attentive to his children and he fired back saying she always changed her travel plans at the last minute. The crooner didn't back down --he then went on to suggest she see a psychiatrist to find out why she can't ever be alone! Word is Marc is quite jealous about J-Lo's new boyfriend, CASPER SMART, and the two are "very serious." (Lee)
Going Chapter 11:
Twinkies may be indestructible, but Hostess is preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Sources tell the Wall Street Journal the company carries more than $860 million in debt and owes more than $50 million to vendors, plus it's under pressure from rising prices for sugar and other ingredients.
This would be the second restructuring for the company in the last several years. The company spent four years in bankruptcy court beginning in 2004, but it has continued to struggle even after restructuring. When it files for bankruptcy, Hostess will likely try to reduce debt and renegotiate labor contracts.
Editor's note: Hostess Cupcakes, Twinkies, Ho-Ho's, Ring Dings, and Devil Dogs got millions of kids through the cold war. Each one was like a nuclear gut bomb. Somehow we survived (some of us at least). The secret formulas that took simple sugar and plasticized it to be a precurser to the Tempur-pedic Memory Foam Mattress and should never be released to the world! (Maiman)Broadcast, cable and video news:
Deadline.com says everybody's favorite mob movie, "Goodfellas," is being turned into a TV series on AMC.
And, it gets better. NICHOLAS PILEGGI, who wrote both the original book "Wiseguy" and the screenplay for "Goodfellas," will be writing the show as well. No word on casting --or what characters, if any, will be imported from the movie. And here's a shocker --KATY PERRY's soon-to-be-ex-husband, RUSSELL BRAND, has picked up a new, late night TV comedy show on the FX network. network execs told members of the TV Press Tour yesterday the show will start later this year.
Editor's note: "...because "Arthur" did so well at the box office...Grace notes:
BLACK SABBATH was scheduled to be one of the headliners at this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, but had to pull out because of guitarist TONY IOMMI's illness. Yesterday, Tony revealed that he he is being treated for lymphoma. The newly reunited original lineup of Sabbath, including OZZY OSBOURNE, is set to record its first album since 1978's "Never Say Die." That will still happen, but nothing has been decided about doing concerts. Sabbath is supposed to headline the UK's Download Festival in early June, and so far that date is still on. It will all depend on Tony's health. (Marino)
