Taking everything much too seriously:
A blogger is attempting to collect the "World’s Funniest Wireless Network Names".
According to the Chicago Tribune, ALEXANDRA JANELLI of Chicago has catalogued WiFi networks with names like "I eat babies for breakfast," "Tequila Rabbi," and "I’ve seen you naked."
As for why Janelli feels the need to compile the list, she says, "I needed a hobby, and it was either going to be this or golf." (Still)Trendspotting: Big Bangs:
A full roster of celebrities have been rocking haircuts with heavy bangs since the start of the New Year. KIM KARDASHIAN and KAUNDI BURRUSS on New Year’s Eve, NICOLE RICHIE at the Golden Globes and ROONEY MARA at the premieres for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” Stylecaster.com says much of the retro trend can be traced back to ZOOEY DESCHANEL of “The New Girl.” (Bartha)
Gossip Central: tabloids with Cory Myers:
JESSICA SIMPSON is done with Lamaze classes. According to In Touch magazine, Jess's sister, ASHLEE, was in labor with her son, BRONX, for almost three days. Jessica decided she doesn't want to go thru all that so she scheduled a C-section instead. (Myers)
Sucking up:
SETH ROGEN is head-over-heels for his blushing bride. The new groom proudly bragged to Us Weekly that he didn't sign on a prenuptial agreement and says if he loses millions, it will be the "best millions I've spent." Seth's learned a few things since tying the knot --the comic claims he doesn't interupt nearly as often and even taught the little lady how to tidy up. (Lee)
Filling a need:
Pedometers are so passé. Nike’s new gadget tracks your movement and calories burned, and even syncs up to your iPhone or PC to help you keep track of your activity data.
According to Venture Beat, the Nike+ FuelBand is a direct competitor to Jawbone’s similar wristband. But Jawbone stopped making theirs back in December after customers complained of battery and synching issues.
Nike’s new wristband allows users to measure movement throughout the day, whether it be walking, running, biking or ballet. And the waterproof band allows you to set daily goals and even notifies you whether or not you’ve met them.
FYI: You can order the FuelBand for $150. It starts shipping tomorrow. (Page) -
