Health and Medical Briefs:
If a bowl of soup warms you up during the cold winter months, you may not want to eat it from a melamine bowl. A new study found that melamine can be ingested when it's used to serve hot food.
In 2008, officials discovered the chemical killed infants in a milk-formula scandal, and according to findings published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Internal Medicine, the toxic substance is released from melamine tableware when exposed to boiling hot substances.
Researchers in Taiwan detected traces of melamine in the urine of volunteers who ate hot noodle soup from non-breakable melamine bowls. It isn't certain how much melamine needs to be consumed before it becomes a health hazard, but long-term exposure should be a concern. (Page)Super Bowl Hype:
Now that we have our teams for Super Bowl 2013 are known, fans who wanna see the game and don't have tickets are off to the secondary market, where the average price of a ticket is about $3,195, according to ticket tracker TiqIQ. And that's just for starters. Conventional wisdom has it that resale tickets will eventually go as high as $10 grand by the time we get to Super Bowl weekend --maybe more.
According to the NFL, the official list prices for the Super Bowl's upper bowl, lower bowl and club seats are $850, $950 and $1,250, but as of Monday morning, the lowest price for resale tickets was $2,168. (Maiman)Grace notes:

Making the rounds in Tinseltown:
Didja love "Baywatch" and all those slo-mo scenes running on the beach in too-tight bathing suits when it was on in back in the 90s? Well, showbiz blog The Wrap says there's a "Baywatch" movie in the works and "SNL" star BILL HADER will play the DAVID HASSELHOFF role in the film.
But don't think you've seen the last of The Hoff --there'll reportedly be cameos from him and PAMELA ANDERSON in the reboot as well.Sucking the life out of the wire services:
Do we care that JUSTIN BIEBER has once again reclaimed the mark of most-followed person on Twitter, passing LADY GAGA over the weekend?
As of this morning, Justin has 33,374,041 followers, while Gaga has a mere 33,355,375. However, Gaga is still numero uno on Facebook, however, with 55 million followers to Bieber's 50.68 million likes.Equal time:
A few embarrassing moments yesterday for former NE GOP Sen CHUCK HAGEL --PRESIDENT OBAMA's nominee for defense secretary. A trip to the bathroom ended up morphing into an impromptu news conference.
Politico reports that while Hagel was making the rounds in the Senate yesterday, he wandered into a bathroom in the Senate press gallery. When he walked out --surprise!-- a group of reporters was waiting for him.
As soon as reporters started asking questions, Hagel said, "We have a hearing next week, and I'll look forward to answering questions then." (Pacelli) -
