Super Bowl Betting:
The Super Bowl may be the world's biggest betting parlor. For the traditional bettor who watches point spreads, over-unders and scoreboards, you're mindful of injuries and weather.
Of course, there's way more to Super Bowl betting and once bookies realized fans wanted to bet on more than just the point spread or the over-under, all bets were off. You can bet everything from yards gained on first play from scrimmage to points scored in final two minutes of game. There are odds down for the number of TD passes thrown, number of sacks, number of turnovers... and much more. And of course, people wager on the coin-toss (it's a perfect 50-50 roulette bet --there's only black or red-- Maiman).Length of ALICIA KEYS' National Anthem:
Over-Under is 2 minutes, 15 seconds. They always go closer to two minutes in the Super Bowl because the anthem is really about the singer and not the song. But that's a really long time. To give you an idea of how long a 2 minute, 15 second anthem is, KELLY CLARKSON clocked in last year at 1 minute, 35 seconds; CHRISTINA AGUILERA's botched performance went 1 minute, 45 seconds; and CARRIE UNDERWOOD went just over 1 minute, 43 seconds.
--Odds Alicia will screw up or forget at least one word: Yes (+150), No (-200).
--Odds BEYONCÉ will be joined onstage by husband JAY-Z during the Halftime Show at any point? Yes (+110); No: (-150)
--Odds Beyoncé's hair will be straight (-140) or curly/crimped (Even money) at the beginning of the halftime show.Gatorade Shower Color:
--Clear/Water, 7/4
--Yellow, 5/2
--Orange, 5/2
--Red, 13/2
--Green, 13/2
--Blue, 13/2Hashed, rehashed and useless trivia:
Two things that come with every Super Bowl: Story lines we get tired of hearing about and trivia we have no interest in hearing about.
--Number of teams to win back-to-back Super Bowls: Seven. Green Bay: (I, II); Miami: (VII, VIII); Pittsburgh: (IX, X) (XIII, XIV); San Francisco: (XXIII, XXIV); Dallas: (XXVII, XXVIII); Denver: (XXXII, XXXIII); New England: (XXXVIII, XXXIX).
--Baltimore quarterback JOE FLACCO will become the fifth quarterback named Joe to start the Super Bowl. Joe is the most common name among Super Bowl starting quarterbacks. In a surprising development, Colin Kaepernick is the first Colin to start at quarterback in the Super Bowl. Quarterbacks named Joe are 7-4 in the Super Bowl.
--First player to say, "I'm going to Disneyland!": PHIL SIMMS, 1986. He'll be in the broadcast booth on Sunday.
--The Vince Lombardi Trophy is one of the most recognizable prizes in all of sports. So how much does it cost? It's one of the less-inspired creations of Tiffany & Company in New York. Still, at $12-thousand, it's a bargain. The NFL buys the winning team 150 rings at $5-thousand a pop. Even the losing team gets 125 pieces of jewelry. Can you imagine showing that off to your friends? "Hey guys, here's the silver locket I won for losing the Super Bowl!" (Maiman)Top 5 pizza sales days are:
