The President at play:
So where will PRESIDENT OBAMA's presidential library be located? In Honolulu, or Chicago? The president was asked that question Wednesday in a sitdown with a Honolulu TV reporter YUNJI DeNIES.
He said, "Honolulu is my birthplace, it's the place where I grew up and I met so many friends and fond memories and it helped to shape me, so I'd like to find a way that after my presidency that connection remains ... But, you know, I live in Chicago now and that's where I grew up professionally. It is a tough choice, but it's not one that I've made yet ...All I know is that folks back home back in Hawaii have been very generous in talking about how much they'd like to figure out a way to participate post-presidency and I'm flattered by that... I'm going to look at every option." (Pacelli)I'm a Poll Man:
Is NJ GOP Gov CHRIS CHRISTIE the model of governance that people are looking for? A new Quinnpiac University poll puts Christie's popularity --in a traditionally "blue" state-- at 74-percent, with 71-percent saying he deserves re-election.
But in a hypothetical 2016 presidential match-up against HILLARY CLINTON, he trails her, 49-to-45-percent. Christie's numbers were apparently aided by his response to Hurricane SANDY, and his work with PRESIDENT OBAMA after the storm. (Pacelli)Like you really care:
Are you dreaming of spring break in Florida? Great news --STEVEN SPIELBERG may have the perfect spot to crash! Photographers for TMZ.com spotted the filmmaker's $200-million-dollar yacht moored off the coast of Fort Lauderdale this week. The ocean beast features an infinity pool, movie screen, gym, spa, helipad, sleeps 12 guests, 26 crew members and is available to rent for a budget-friendly $1.3-million per-week. (Lee)
On, off and way-off Broadway:
Actor SHIA LaBEOUF has left his role in the upcoming Broadway revival of "Orphans." There's no official reason for the abrupt change in his plans, but the NY Times claims the director of the show was concerned with Shia's "performance choices in the emotionally volatile and ultimately tragic role."
Another guy who's been in the news lately, ALEC BALDWIN, will also be starring in the show, which is scheduled to begin previews on Mar 19 and open Apr 07. The NY Post says a fued between the two stars is what caused Shia's departure, but everybody's denying the story.Could you see Emmy-winning "Glee" star JANE LYNCH as the heavy --Miss Hannigan-- in the show, "Annie"? No brainer, right?
That's apparently what producers thought as well, because she's signed up to take over the evil role in the long-running Broadway show for two months beginning May 16.
It'll be Jane's Broadway debut --the actress she's replacing, KATIE FINNERAN, has just signed up to share the lead role in the upcoming new MICHAEL J FOX sitcom, on NBC.Reality Round-Up:
Former SPICE GIRL MEL B will be replacing SHARON OSBOURNE in the upcoming season of "America's Got Talent." Deadline.com reports she'll be sitting on the judge's panel when the series heads to New Orleans for it's first auditions on Mar 04.
This is nothing new for Mel --she was a judge on the Australian version of "The X Factor" and appeared as a guest host on the original English version of the show. -
