Your tax dollars at work:
The fear of a major cyber attack against the U.S. is apparently spreading fast. A congressional panel was told yesterday that the Pentagon's "Cyber Command" will create 13 offensive teams by the fall of 2015 to help defend the nation against major computer attacks from abroad.
Pentagon oficials say there already some teams in place to fight a "cyber war" if necessary. (Pacelli)Trash talk and satellite dish:
Sad news for JUSTIN BIEBER fans... his hamster, PAC, has gone to that big habitrail in the sky.
As you probably know if you're a Belieber, last December, Justin gave the hamster to a screaming female fan, VICTORIA BLAIR, after his performance at a Jingle Ball in Atlanta, GA. "That's all you," Justin said to her at the time. "You gotta take care of PAC."
But Victoria tweeted yesterday that PAC had passed away. Old age, according to Victoria.
FYI: life span for the average hamster: 2-3 years.LADY GAGA emerged from her sick bed, where she's been recovering from joint inflammation and a torn labrum in her hip. And of course, being Lady Gaga, she's not going to be seen in anything less than the best. She was photographed In New York City rolling around in bright yellow 24-carat yellow gold wheelchair!
MTVStyle says the chair was designed by KEN BOROCHOV, specifically commissioned by La Gaga for creation of the Momma Monster's Chariot. Seriously. Ken says he's called it called the Chariot, a "chair fit only for a queen." It was made out of tufted calf leather inspired by classic motorcycle jackets. The wheels and hardware are all 24-karat gold plated. (Bartha)Stars and their movies:
ADAM SANDLER and DREW BARRYMORE are getting together to make a movie again.
They previously worked together on "50 First Dates" and "The Wedding Singer," and Daily Variety says the story will have a couple who met on a blind date and then wind up stuck together in a family resort with their children from previous marriages.Grace notes:
TAYLOR SWIFT kicks off her "Red" tour tonight in Omaha, Nebraska. She told MTV News that the onstage visuals will be (quote), "more grown up and a little more mature than things we've done in the past." The tour won't wrap up until mid-September with three shows in Nashville. She'll do a few stadium shows in too. The video for Taylor's new single, "22," is also out today. (Marino)
If you wrote a fan letter to TAYLOR SWIFT and never got a reply, here's a possible reason why. Nashville's News 2 says hundreds of unopened letters addressed to Taylor were found in a recycling dumpster behind an elementary school. A reporter went to the strip mall where Taylor has a Post Office box.
Someone from her staff picks up the fan mail at least once a week. All of it is opened, read and recycled. What might have happened in this case is a batch of unopened letters was put in the recycle pile by mistake. But, no worries. A messenger was sent to the TV station to pick up the mail and it was immediately taken to Taylor's management office. (Marino) -
