The President at play:
PRESIDENT OBAMA voted on Monday, near his private residence in Chicago. He went to the polls to take advantage of Illinois' first day of early voting.
At a community center a few miles from his home, he told reporters, "I love voting. Everybody in Illinois, early vote. It's a wonderful opportunity."
Before he was handed his ballot, a poll worker asked if he was Barack Obama. He answered, "That's me." (Pacelli)Fear factor and Halloween!
This is a tough time of year for Samhainophobics. One of the less common phobias, Samhainophobia is the fear of Halloween! Here's a list of some of the other surprising things that can make a sufferer sweat, shake or in other ways react with fear and loathing and all else on the scale of extreme discomfort, courtesy of the Grand Forks Herald:
--Air: Anemophobia.
--13 (the number): Triskadekaphobia.
--Beds (or going to bed): Clinophobia .
--Clouds: Nephophobia.
--Clowns: Coulrophobia.
--Dolls: Pediophobia.
--Dust: Amathophobia.
--Music: Melophobia
--Peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth: Arachibutyrophobia.
--Everything: Panophobia. (Kaye)Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
RYAN REYNOLDS isn't messing around when it comes to naming his firstborn child. PerezHilton.com reports Mr. BLAKE LIVELY doesn't want anything "pretentious" or "Hollywood-y," so they're going with (wait for it...) Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds if it's a girl. If the newborn child isn't the fairer sex, the little guy will be known as BRUCE JENNER. (Lee)
On, off and way-off Broadway:
Remember MARK LINN-BAKER from TV's "Perfect Strangers" and the movie, "My Favorite Year?" Playbill.com says he's joined the cast of "On The Twentieth Century." The Roundabout Theater Company's revival of the Broadway musical stars KRISTIN CHENOWETH and PETER GALLAGHER. Previews begin February 12th and opening night is March 12th at the American Airlines Theater. (Marino)
The Reel Deal:
Look out, bronies and pegasisters! Hasbro is working on a "My Little Pony" movie.
The TV show has been around since 1983, and it's not just for kids... since adult male "My Little Pony" fans are known as "Bronys" and adult female fans are known as a "Pegasis" (a combination of Pegasus and Sister). The film will be out in 2017. -
