Anniversaries:
Anniversary of RICHARD NIXON's "Last Press Conference" (1962), at which he famously declared, "You won't have Nixon to kick around any more...." Little did we know...!
--EARVIN "Magic" JOHNSON announced he was HIV-positive and would retire from the NBA (1991).Immigration Update:
The Washington Post reports that most of the people the Border Patrol stopped from sneaking into the country last year were from countries other than Mexico, according to agency statistics. However, the Border Patrol's annual statistics were posted on the U.S. Customs and Border Protection web site for only about five hours on October 10th, and then taken down.
Customs and Border Protection spokesman CHRISTOPHER O'NEIL tells the paper that the decision to remove the briefly released data had nothing to do with Tuesday's midterm elections. He said, it was just an effort to provide all of the agency's statistics --and not just the Border Patrol's-- "in one concise and comprehensive package." (Pacelli)Those @$#%* Foreigners:
National security sources tell ABC News that a destructive "Trojan Horse" malware program has penetrated the software that runs much of the nation's critical infrastructure and is poised to cause an economic catastrophe. There's evidence that the malware was inserted by hackers believed to be sponsored by the Russian government, and is a very serious threat.
The hacked software is used to control complex industrial operations like oil and gas pipelines, power transmission grids, water distribution and filtration systems, wind turbines and even some nuclear plants. (Pacelli)Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
Topless shots of KEIRA KNIGHTLEY? It's not a scam designed to make you go to a website and be confronted with a virus.
Apparently Kiera is taking a stand against photo-shopping. She recently did a set of photos for Interview magazine, and then told The Times of London that she demanded the photos be published unedited.
"I've had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons, whether it's paparazzi photographers or for film posters," she told the paper. "That [shoot] was one of the ones where I said: 'OK, I'm fine doing the topless shot so long as you don't make them any bigger or retouch.' Because it does feel important to say it really doesn't matter what shape you are."
Keira got quite angry back in '04 when the poster for "King Arthur" showed her cleavage looking "really, really droopy." (Lee)
So before you get all excited, there's really only one shot of her topless... which can be seen HERE, along with the rest of the photo shoot.Look what I found:
A Florida man who bought a foreclosed home at auction was shocked at what he found inside.
WILLIAM WILSON bought the pink house in Cape Coral for only $96-thousand dollars. But, when he went inside the home, he found a huge mess. The home was full of boxes, shredded paper, trash, and old food. Oh, and there was a dead body lying there, too!
Authorities believe the deceased was the owner of the house. The home had gone into foreclosure because of unpaid property taxes. Apparently, it's hard to write a check for taxes when you're dead. (Still) -
