The Internet:
Another day, another big hacker breach reported.
This time it turns out hackers obtained the passwords and data (like e-mail addresses) from MySpace, and are now trying to sell the data from about 360 million users of the social networking site in online forums.
MySpace says it believes the data breach was done by a Russian cyberhacker called "Peace," who was reportedly also behind similar attacks on LinkedIn and Tumblr.
The email and password combinations were reportedly registered prior on MySpace before Jun 11, 2013, when the website installed better security.Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
DEREK JETER and his fiancee, HANNAH DAVIS, are an all-American couple that are set to tie the knot on Independence Day weekend. The NY Daily News reports the lovebirds will say their "I Do's" in beautiful Napa Valley, California, next month and the Sports Illustrated model will enjoy a bachelorette shindig in Miami in the very near future. The former Yankees star popped the question last year and the lovebirds have been dating since 2012. (Lee)
Fashion Emergency:
"And now for something completely different..." It turns out that POPE FRANCIS is a big fan of (wait for it...) YouTube beauty bloggers!? Yup. Racked.com says on Sunday Pope Francis met with 12 top "YouTubers" at the Vatican, including rock star beauty bloggers like LOUISE PENTLAND of the SprinkleofGlitter channel and DULCE CANDY RUIZ of DulceCandy87. The pope even told the group "I am glad that you carry out the type of work you said, following the line of beauty, it's a great thing. To preach beauty and show beauty helps neutralize aggression." Today's police blotter:
Someone is hacking electronic construction signs around Dallas, Texas.
The Texas Department of Transportation signs along Interstate 30 and other roads started flashing strange messages Tuesday morning. One of them read: "DONALD TRUMP is a shape shifting lizard!" Another sign said: "Work is canceled. Go back home." A spokesperson for the Texas DOT says there's nothing funny about what the hackers did. (Still) -
