Look what I found:
A guy in Idaho discovered a woolly mammoth on his property.
KASEY KELLER of Preston was digging a pit with a backhoe when he found what looked like petrified wood. It turned out to be the fossilized remains of a Columbian mammoth's tusk. Experts say it could be up to 15-thousand years old. Keller says, "The odds of finding that in this area are rarer than finding a needle in a haystack." (Still)Idiots or Insane:
Drunk, stupid and tattooed is no way to go through life, son.
The latest crazy fad running through England is millenials getting drunk and filling their need for all things Harry Potterby tattooing the boy wizard's lighting bolt scar on their forehead.
Harry got the scar in the books by J.K. ROWLING when Voldemort killed his parents and tried to kill him, too, but his mother's love saved him. He was left with the scar in the middle of his forehead. It's a much sexier way to get a mark than sobering up and realizing what you did. See some of the artwork HERE. (Myers)Trendspotting:
"Mom Jeans" are cool again. Fashionista.com says denim trends are moving toward a roomier, high-waisted, mom-friendlier fit. The style is rising in popularity and multiple brands have taken note. Levis is even taking its version of the style and having some fun with mom jeans' traditionally-unfriendly reputation --they've named their mom jeans style the "Wedgie." On their blog, Levi says the "back pockets of the Wedgie Jean are slightly tilted inwards, adding the allure of the ultimate 'mom butt'." (Bartha)
Weird science Olympics edition:
If you're following the Olympics, you've probably heard about "cupping." Stars like swimmer MICHAEL PHELPS and gymnast ALEX NADDOUR have been spotted with the giant round hickeys. They're marks left by a trendy ancient Chinese healing technique that uses suction cups to relieve pain. TheVerge.com says cupping but has limited scientific evidence to back it up. But athletes who use the alternative therapy swear by it for easing muscle aches.
Chocolate, Caffeine, Alcohol:
New government rules banning sales of e-cigarettes to minors went into effect yesterday. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) new rules halt e-cigarette sales to anyone 18 or younger. CBS says retailers are also banned from doling out free samples, requires a photo I-D at purchase and forbids e-cigarette vending machine sales. The new FDA rules also cover other alternate forms of tobacco. That includes cigars, hookah tobacco and pipe tobacco. (Bartha)
