Today's police blotter:
Maryland police are looking for a guy they say burglarized a pizza restaurant --while butt-nekkid!
Baltimore County officers say the unknown bandit was fully clothed when he broke into Slice Pizza through a ventilation duct. But, security cameras caught him stripping his clothes off once he got inside. He didn't take any money or pizza. Cops say he did steal a water bottle and caused damage to several cash registers. The restaurant is offering a lifetime supply of pizza to anyone who provides information leading to the naked thief's arrest. (Still)Broadcast, cable and video news:
Ever wanted to take a college course on "The Simpsons"?
Yes, there's one being offered at the University of Glasgow, where professor JOHN DONALDSON has gotten the OK to teach "D'Oh! The Simpsons Introduce Philosophy" next semester.
It's not a full-semester course, however --Donaldson will only be teaching it on two Saturdays, next year, on Jan 21 and Feb 04. The course description says "Aristotle, Kant, Marx, Camus, and many other great thinkers' ideas are represented in what is arguably the purest of philosophical forms: the comic cartoon. This day-school will explore some of philosophy's most inspiring ideas as presented in MATT GROENING's monument to the absurdities of human existence."
And by the way, it will only cost students 30-pounds (or around $37).Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
THIS Clinton ALWAYS wins! GEORGE CLINTON is taking PARLIAMENT-FUNKADELIC on the road for a "Mardi Gras Madness" tour. It begins February 16th in Pittsburgh and wraps March 4th in Okeechobee, Florida. On Mardi Gras itself, which is February 28th, George and the band will be at B.B. King's Blues Club in New York City for a big "Fat Tuesday" celebration. (Marino)
TheInternet:
Problems for people who registered at the adult dating site, AdultFriendFinder, whose over 400-million user accounts were hacked and user information stolen.
Business Insider reports the accounts go back 20 years, and over 80 percent of the accounts are from AdultFriendFinder. Some 63 million come from the adult webcam site Cams.com, another seven million come from the adult magazine websitePenthouse.com, and over a million apiece from Stripshow.com and iCams.com.
Of course, besides the possibility of password combinations being stolen from people who use the same combinations on various sites, it also opens the possibility of extortion and blackmail attempts, like what happened after the Ashley Madison website was hacked. -
