Sucks to be you:
Think big-time action stars don't have a celebrity crush or two? Think again! HUGH JACKMAN revealed in a new interview that he ate lunch with JOHN TRAVOLTA while they were working on a movie one day and OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN popped in! The Aussie promptly announced that he had a poster of her on his wall back in the day and she responded with one, simple word: "Right." Hugh is fairly certain the "Grease" star was convinced he was a stalker and her "worst nightmare." (Lee)
Today's police blotter:
Police in Northern California had to rescue a naked guy trapped in a sandwich shop.
Rescuers in Napa demolished part of a wall to free the unidentified man, who spent the night trapped in a narrow hallway within the shop. The man was discovered early in the morning in the buff by construction crews arriving to start work. Police think the man fell into the thin passageway after climbing on the roof. He was treated at a nearby hospital for unknown injuries. It's unclear if he faces charges. (Still)Stars and their movies:
With the new, live-action reboot of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" coming Friday and the rumor mill working overtime to spread the story that there's a gay sub-plot, you knew it was just a matter of time before boycotts were announced.
The latest one is being pushed by the American Family Association, an anti-LGBTQ group that (quote) "believes that a culture based on biblical truth best serves the well-being of our nation and our families."
"If parents don't push back today and take a strong stand, Disney will continue to allow more children's movies to push the homosexual agenda," the group says on its website.
In a separate move, Malaysia has also pulled the film from theaters in that country, and Russia placed a 16-plus age rating on the movie.Lowest common denominator:
Society really has gotten lazy. RYAN BERNARD, owner of R. Bernard Funeral Services in Memphis, Tennessee, bought an old bank building to move his growing business into. And he even utilized the drive-thru window! The funeral home now offers "drive-thru viewing" of your loved one where people paying their respects don't even have to get out of their car! (Myers)
