Survivor: real life:
LUCKY is an understatement for KYLE WHITNEY. The man, who's 34, and lives in El Reno, Oklahoma, woke up last week with numbness in his arm, leg and face."Since I was halfway asleep, I thought it was just maybe that part of my body falling asleep. But it was different because you didn't feel the sandbaggyness. Or the needles. You could not move it at all."
Since the feeling was coming and going, he stopped by the feed store on his way to the hospital. And collapsed in line. He was conscious, but couldn't move at all. He managed to tell the ambulance to bring him to Mercy Hospital because he was Catholic --and it's a good thing.
They have an expert stroke team there who quickly figured out that he had a blot clot in his brain and had just experienced about 15 strokes. The hospital gave him a medicine called a "clot-buster" that broke up the blood clot and saved Kyle's life. He now eats a healthy diet and has quit smoking. (Myers)Pet Patrol:
A Texas man built a wheelchair for a disabled goldfish.
TAYLOR DEAN of San Antonio tweeted a photo of the device, built by her friend DEREK. Dean says Derek works at a fish store and created the wheelchair for a customer whose fish had lost its buoyancy. The goldfish apparently suffers from a bladder disorder. It wasn't immediately clear how the "wheelchair" works. (Still)Keeping Up With The Trump Family:
MELANIA TRUMP's home country of Slovenia has named salami and wine after her. New Yorkmagazine says the Sevnica Castle in Slovenia is now producing a line of "First Lady" wines. The initial run of 300 bottles --which retail at just under $30 U-S dollars, twice the price of similar wines-- reportedly sold out in three days. But don't worry, they have 2,000 more bottles of wine ready to go. Other products in the First Lady collection include salami made from a rare breed of local pig (Krškopoljc), chocolates, and beauty creams. As for how the wine actually tastes, one winemaker described it thusly: "It's not a strong a wine, it's gentle like Melania." (Bartha)
