What's the Buzz:
Sunday will be the final show for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. It's final performance will take place at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island.
The Circus will close out 146 years of performances, which began as P. T. Barnum's Grand Traveling Museum, Menagerie, Caravan and Hippodrome. The closing is being blamed on declining ticket sales over the past decade as well as protests from animal rights groups like the People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals, which has been celebrating the closure.
The animals are owned by Feld Entertainment, and will be sent to different places after the final show. The tigers, for example, are being sent to a center that specializes in the big cats.
The show --with its more than 500 performers and crew members has had 100 animals to care for and feed and had two trains to move the troupe from town to town. The train cars are being auctioned off as well.Sucking up:
KIRK DOUGLAS married the most understanding woman on Earth when he said "I Do" to his wife, ANNE. The missus revealed to Fox News that she always told her hubby to be honest if he cheated or had a fling, says he "always has" and none were serious. The 98-year-old hails from Germany and was raised to believe it's "unrealistic" to expect fidelity in a marriage. (Lee)
Looking for love in all the wrong places:
Now he knows how most of us girls feel after a date!
A man in Bostwick, Florida, thought it would be a great idea to try and kiss a snake. That's right --I said, KISS a snake. And not just any snake either --an Eastern diamondback rattlesnake!!!
Not surprisingly, the snake did NOT want to be kissed and it bit RON REINOLD right on his tongue. He is in critical condition and yes, apparently alcohol *was* involved. (Myers)Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
The AC/DC pinball machine is back! Stern Pinball is making the Pro and Premium models again after they went out of circulation in 2012. The game plays 12 AC/DC classics and the new models have state-of-the-art electronics. The Pro Version sells for a little over $6,000-dollars, while the Premium is priced at $7,699-bucks. (Marino)
