Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:

Face time with the judge:
Another day, another monster bill for TORI SPELLING and DEAN McDERMOTT. This time, E! News reports the couple has to fork over almost $220-thousand dollarsafter defaulting on a loan from City National Bank.
The duo have five children together and a mountain of debt --they were slapped with a tax lien of over a quarter-million-bucks last year, were sued by American Express on two different occasions and the Hollywood princess blames it all on her upbringing. In her 2013 memoir, Tori blamed her money problems on growing up "rich beyond anyone's wildest dreams." (Lee)At the local Cop Shop:
A coffee shop owner in Massachusetts received a cease-and-desist letter from Dunkin' Donuts.
It all started when STEVE COPOULOS of North Attleborough put a sign on his shop window reading: "North now runs on Mike's." Soon afterward, he got a letter from the donut giant claiming he was infringing on their trademarked slogan: "America Runs on Dunkin.'" Copoulos says he was surprised by the letter from the Canton, Massachusetts-based company. Copoulos stresses his shop is the "exact opposite" of a corporate coffee chain. He has since taken down the sign. (Still)Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
GREGG ALLMAN's son MICHAEL will honor his late father with a concert in New Jersey on June 8th. The Asbury Park Press says the MICHAEL ALLMAN BAND is booked at the Wonder Bar. He's asking fans to bring their Allmans memorabilia and photos to share with other fans. Gregg Allman died on Saturday of complications from liver cancer. He was 69 years old.
FYI: Gregg Allman will also be honored at the 2017 CMT Music Awards. JASON ALDEAN, DARIUS RUCKER and CHARLES KELLEY of LADY ANTEBELLUM are all scheduled to perform some of Gregg's music. The awards will be handed out on June 7th. (Marino)Global warming update:
The Larsen C ice shelf is going to break off any time now. When it goes, it will create one of the largest icebergs ever recorded, fundamentally changing the geography of Antarctica and possibly accelerate sea level rise. LiveScience.com says the breakup --when it happens-- will be "both awe-inducing and horrifying."
The iceberg on the verge of splitting off is estimated to be the size of the state of Delaware, covering an area of 1,930 square miles. That's equal to 10 percent of the ice shelf's total area. Once it breaks off, scientists are concerned that the rest of ice shelf could collapse afterwards, a fate that befell Larsen A in 1995 and Larsen B in 2002. In Larsen B's case, the ice shelf collapsed in the span of a month following an influx of mild air.
The rift in the Larsen C ice shelf has spread rapidly in just the last week --17 miles over the past six days-- marking the biggest leap since January. The crack has also turned toward where the ice shelf ends and is within eight miles of making a clean break. (Bartha)
