Trump impeachment possibility:
Yet still another story about a member of the House of Representatives putting together a resolution to impeach PRESIDENT TRUMP.
The Hillreports Texas Democrat AL GREEN is drafting articles of impeachment and released a statement last night saying "The facts are simple and indisputable. The President fired the FBI Director because the Director was investigating the President's campaign connections to Russian interference in the Presidential Election. This is obstruction of justice."
More details are expected to be released this afternoon at a press conference Green is holding at the Capitol.Filling a need:
Don't expect the covfefe trend to die down anytime soon. TMZ reports several enterprising folks have filed documents to create products featuring the odd word that PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP debuted last week on Twitter. Apparently we can look forward to everything from thong underwear to leisure suits with the moniker, not to mention clogs, coffee and even beer.(Lee)
On, off and way-off-Broadway:
The 1988 movie, "Working Girl" is headed for the stage. Billboard.com says "Kinky Boots" songwriter CYNDI LAUPER is coming up with the tunes for the musical with KIM ROSENSTOCK who writes for the TV show "New Girl" working on the script. No word on casting yet. Hopefully, CARLY SIMON's "Let The River Run," which was the theme song for the film, will be part of the show. (Marino)
Trendspotting:
"Wonder Woman" status as a fashion icon means top fashion labels like Givenchy and Louis Vuitton are cashing in on the success of the movie --along with retailers like Hot Topic and Kohl's. Women's Wear Dailysays the superhero "is a pioneer in many ways including being a fashion icon." Today, fashion houses that include STELLA McCARTNEY, Kenzo, Lanvin, Versace and KARL LAGERFELD are all unveiling original designs inspired by Wonder Woman that will be auctioned for charity in Paris. Other officially licensed products on the market include Alex and Ani charm bracelets set with the classic "W" logo, a tri-colored BETSEY JOHNSON backpack and a Hot Topic x Her Universe collection, which was designed by fans of the character. Today's police blotter:
Somebody vandalized Rhode Island's famous termite sculpture.
Providence police say someone spray-painted graffiti on the 58-foot Big Blue Bug --also known as NIBBLES WOODAWAY. The statue advertises a local pest control company and has been visible from Interstate 95 for the past 40 years. Business owner TONY DeJESUS says it's the first time in history anyone has vandalized the sculpture. He says it's going to be expensive to repair the damage. There aren't any suspects yet. (Still)
