Pilot news:
In the works --a limited series about LOU PEARLMAN, the guy who put the BACKSTREET BOYS and 'NSYNC together, but who was convicted of running a huge Ponzi scheme years later, and died in prison in 2016 after serving eight years behind bars.
No casting for the series yet, although Deadline reports DESMOND CHILD and ANDREAS CARLSSON --who've written hits for both boy bands as well as AEROSMITH, BON JOVI, RICKY MARTIN and many others-- will be producing the series.Lowering expectations:
Something smells fishy in Rhode Island --literally.
Residents of Tiverton are pinching their noses after a local man reportedly paved a small access road with unwashed clamshells. Neighbors say the shells have been decomposing, polluting the air. Someone even put up a sign by the road that reads: "Honk if it stinks." A local building inspector has since issued a Cease and Desist notice to the guy who paved the road and authorities have launched an investigation. (Still)Food and Nutrition:
Children who drink dairy alternatives like soy, almond or rice milks are slightly shorter than their peers who drink cow's milk. CNN says a new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutritionfound that each daily cup of non-cow's milk consumed was linked with about 0.15 inches-lower height than average for a child's age. The researchers said that's more than half-an-inch difference and is "not a tiny difference when you're three years old." (Bartha)
Trash talk and satellite dish:
YARA SHAHIDI is much more than just another pretty actress. The brainy star of "Black-ish" revealed she's headed to Harvard University this fall by showing off in a crimson sweatshirt from the school on social media. E! News reports she had some very big names gunning for her --former FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA wrote a letter of recommendation and Yara plans to major in African American studies and sociology. (Lee)
