Probably not a good idea to combine them.
Happy birthday to F-W WOOLWORTH's! Who? What? Remember the 5-and-10-cent store? Now there's the Dollar Store and Five Below, thanks to inflation. But back on this date in 1879, ol' F-W opened his first 5 and 10 in Lancaster, PA. The problem was a simple one: location, location, location. When he tried to sell items for less than a dime in Utica, NY, he went broke. So he moved the store to a better location and made a ton of money --it turned out to be a million dollar baby.
More than 100 years later, in 1997, after several mergers and acquisitions, the company decided to focus on sporting goods, and by the turn of the century, in 2001, changed its name to Foot Locker Inc. So when you pass Foot Locker at the mall, that's what became of F-W Woolworth's.
Woolworth sidebar: By the way, back when he was making money hand-over-fist, Ol' F-W moved the center of his operations to New York City and built a skyscraper FOR CASH! In fact, the 58-story Woolworth Building was the tallest building in the world from the time it was finished in 1913 until 1930. It was sold by the company's successor, the Venator Group, in 1998.Fashion Emergency:
KIM KARDASHIAN is expected to make more than $14-million dollars within a few minutes time today. And what's on your day planner? Peoplemagazine says today is the day Kim's new beauty line drops. It includes contouring and highlighting makeup kits. All 300-thousand make-up kits retailing for $48 dollars a pop are expected to sell out within minutes of going on sale. When the frenzy is over, Kim will be walking away with a cool $14.4 million dollars. (Bartha)

A hotel bar in Canada has reported their mummified human toe stolen.
The Sourdough Saloon at the Downtown Hotel in Dawson City uses a preserved human toe as an ingredient in a drink they call the Sourtoe Cocktail. The toe is placed at the bottom of a whiskey shot. Customers are then asked to drink it until the toe touches their lips. But, managers say someone ordered the drink last week and stole the toe. TERRY LEE says, "We are furious... what a low life." Lee told police the suspect had a French accent and talked about stealing the toe before he actually did it. Police are investigating. (Still)Space, the Final Frontier:
The first U.S. solar eclipse in almost half a century is happens in August, but you don't have to wait until then to pick up some eclipse memorabilia.
The U.S. Post Office is selling a special commemorative stamp with a very unique feature... Popular Mechanicssays the "Total Eclipse of the Sun" stamp is a forever stamp, which means the stamp will never expire. It features a photo of the eclipse taken by retired NASA astrophysicist FRED ESPENAK, and was designed by ANTONIO ALCALA. But the coolest thing --this is the first-ever stamp to feature thermochromic ink, which changes color when heated. If you rub the stamp, the black moon turns into a color photograph revealing the lunar surface. The stamps are available for purchase at the USPS website or your local Post Office. (Bartha)
