It's about time:
A Pennsylvania family finally silenced an alarm clock that's been driving them crazy for over a decade.
JERRY LYNN of Ross Township says the beeping alarm clock has been hidden in the walls of his house for fourteen years. Lynn says it started back in 2004 when he used string to lower the clock into the wall to help pinpoint a spot that he needed to drill. But, the clock fell off the string and has been beeping once a day ever since. Local contractors heard about his troubles with the clock and decided to help out. They were able to remove the device through a vent. The clock battery was severely corroded but still working. (Still)Space, the Final Frontier:
Humanity gets its closest look ever at Jupiter's Giant Red Spot today. NASA's Junospacecraft is set to fly directly over the monstrous storm, which is considered one of the greatest marvels of our solar system --a 10-thousand mile wide storm whipped by 300 mile-per-hour winds. USA Todaysays the storm has raged since at least 1830 and possibly since the mid-1600s, when the spot may have been first seen from Earth. The storm is big enough to fit about two or three Earths.
The Junospacecraft will pass about 5,600 miles above the Giant Red Spot's clouds. All eight of the spacecraft's instruments as well as its camera, the "JunoCam" will be on during the flyby. The NASA probe, about as wide as a basketball court, entered orbit around Jupiter one year ago. The $1 billion ship spent almost five years traveling to the giant planet, where it's been studying what lies beneath the swirling clouds. (Bartha)Drug Bust of the Day:
This is your house. This is your house on fire. This is your house on fire because you have a meth lab in it.
A witness in Shelby Township, Michigan, said, "All I basically saw was a guy running in with no shirt, burns, socks and a pair of gym shorts," a witness said. "Something didn't look right. Then we heard him screaming and everybody started running around. (He was) just in pain, you know, burns. I'd be screaming too."
Police say he suffered serious burns on his arms, chest and neck and is in serious condition. Police evacated the area near Planet Fitness where the man drove to after the fire at his home because meth is very toxic and they are continuing their investigation. (Myers) -
