Trash talk and satellite dish:
JOE SCARBOROUGH and MIKA BRZEZINSKI may be on cloud nine, but the fine production staff at MSNBC ain't happy with all this love on the job. Sources tell the NY Post's Page Six gossip column that the morning news anchors are broadcasting from London and pretendingto be in separate locations, but are actually just yards away from one another. Word is they're "always together" and working on a show where the stars are romantically involved is "very difficult."
Phone starter: Workplace romances aren't ideal, but a fact of life when you have people with similar interests around one another all day long. Did Cupid shoot his arrow at you in the company breakroom? Did you wind up with happily-ever-after and a shared 401k or a nasty split and dirty looks around the Keurig? (Lee)In the Dumper:
Insert your own jokes on this one...!
Two women were caught at Mumbai airport in India smuggling gold in their underwear. All in all, the women, who are 41 and 59 years old, each hadtwo-kilogram gold chains on them that were supposed to be delivered to a man outside who would bring them to a shopkeeper in Mumbai.
The man, along with the two women, were arrested and the shop closed pending an investigation. (Myers)Taking everything much too seriously:
A museum in Oklahoma is unveiling the world's tallest gas pump.
The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum in Sapulpa posted video Friday showing off it's new 66-foot gas pump. The pump is still under construction and needs a coat of paint but should be finished in a couple weeks. Steel worker NYCKEY HEATH, who's involved in building it, says "It's probably the weirdest project that I've ever seen and been involved with." The museum hopes the new attraction will bring in more visitors.
Guinness Records has been asked to inspect the gas pump and certify it as the world's tallest. (Still)Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
HALL & OATES and TEARS FOR FEARS canceled their gig tonight in San Jose, California, along with the shows on Friday and Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Plus, the Tears For Fears headlining show on the 26th at the Santa Barbara Bowl is also off. The promoter says there was a family emergency for someone in Tears For Fears. All of those dates will be rescheduled. (Marino)
