Health and Medical Briefs:
ANGELINA JOLIEhas revealed to Vanity Fairthat she was diagnosed with hypertension and Bells palsy last year. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines Bell's palsy as a form of temporary facial paralysis. It affects the function of the facial nerve, causing an interruption in the messages the brain sends to the muscles in the face, leading to weakness or paralysis in the area. NBC News says it always occurs on one side of the face, but can happen on both. It afflicts approximately 40-thousand Americans each year. The condition is medically defined as a weakness of the face without an identifiable cause. Most in the medical profession believe that a virus causes it, but that has not been proven. (Bartha)
Today's police blotter:
In Idaho, it's not just the food that gets smothered in onions --it's the local roads.
The Nampa Police Department shared photos online of a massive onion spill Tuesday. It happened when several crates fell off a truck, causing a mess that blocked highway traffic in both directions. Traffic was stalled for two hours during the cleanup operation. Some locals took advantage of the spill, loading up bags full of free onions. (Still)Pushing up daisies:
JUNE FORAY, who did the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel on "The Bullwinkle Show" as well as Natasha of Boris and Natasha on the same show, died early this morning. She was 99. She also did the voices for Nell from the "Dudley Do-Right" cartoon, and Cindy Lou Who in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," along with many other characters.
Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
SELENA GOMEZ dropped the full music video for her new single, "Fetish," featuring GUCCI MANE, yesterday. Yowza! She's been posting clips over the last few days, but now the whole thing is here. Watch her eat soap and glass, then use an eyelash curler on her tongue! Selena is definitely not a Disney girl anymore! (Marino)
