Sucking the life out of the wire services:
JOHN CENA is one of the toughest guys on planet Earth, but some of the tiniest things can make him break down in tears. If you didn't know, the wrestler and actor has granted more wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation than anyone else in history and some of the folks he affected got the chance to give back. Cricket Wireless released video of the "Trainwreck" star reading thank-you letters from fans, who were secretly waiting in the next room.
The group then walked in one-by-one to show their gratitude, gave him a "Life Changer" trophy and everyone was busting out the waterworks. John fought back tears and called it the "Coolest surprise ever."(Lee)On, off and way-off-Broadway:
"Frozen" finally has an opening night set for Broadway. The musical based on the Disney animated film begins performances on February 22nd, 2018, at the St. James Theater which is getting a total makeover for the production. Opening night will be March 22nd. (Marino)
Trendspotting:
Glitter boots are emerging as a major shoe trend for fall. Saint Laurent's offers a glitter slouch boot. Chanel offers a knee-high glitter boot with a patent cap toe. In addition to making a statement, InStyle.com says a glitter boot can elevate a boring outfit into an eye-catcher with no work at all.
It's not just boots... glitter skincare is having a moment too. UsWeeklysays the Too Faced brand is unveiling a super-sparkly cream. If glitter is not your thing, GlamGlow and I Dew Care offer metallic face masks. On top of the glittery face masks and glittery boots, make-up aisles are very shiny right now with shimmering, glimmering lipsticks, eye shadows and nail polishes. (Bartha)Pet Patrol:
A pair of cats have inherited a fortune.
When millionaire ELLEN FREY-WOUTER passed away at the age of eighty-eight in the Bronx, she had no heirs. So, she left a huge chunk of her earthly possessions to her beloved cats, TIGER and TROY. The $300-thousand dollar trust fund will be used to cover the cats' grooming, food, health care, and other expenses. In total, Frey-Wouter left behind an estate worth $3-million-dollars. (Still) -
