Guess who the next Colonel Sanders will be in the KFC ads: RAY LIOTTA.
Yep, the Daily Meal reports KFC has cast the former "Goodfellas" star in its new commercials, replacing ROB LOWE, who's been playing the Kentucky Colonel since April. You'll see Ray dressed up and plugging KFC's latest lineup featuring "sweet and tangy" Georgia gold honey-mustard barbecue chicken, and "spicy and smoky" Nashville hot chicken.
FYI: Other actors who've played the Colonel since 2015 --DARRYL HAMMOND, NORM MACDONALD, GEORGE HAMILTON, "Mad Men's" VINCENT KARTHEISER, JIM GAFFIGAN, BILLY ZANE, ROB RIGGLE and "WWE SmackDown" star DOLPH ZIGGLER (Source --with clips-- The List in case you wanna do a trivia contest).Trash talk and satellite dish:
MARIAH CAREY is putting her $500-million dollar fortune to very good use. Insiders tell In Touch Weeklythat the diva replaced all the mirrors at her home with a "skinny" variety that conveniently shave off 20-pounds! Understandably, she's been in a "much better mood" since making the switch and rumor has it she's "very much in denial" about her weight. (Lee)
On, off and way-off-Broadway:
"Dear Evan Hansen" star and Tony winner BEN PLATT is now a recording artist. Billboard.com says he just signed a deal with Atlantic Records. Ben said (quote), "It has been a longtime dream to create original music; I am so excited to be working on this debut album and even more excited for the day I can share it with the world." Ben's final performance in "Dear Evan Hansen" will be on November 19th. Meanwhile, the national tour of the show will hit Chicago, Los Angeles, Buffalo, Charlotte and other cities. The two-year trek begins in Denver in October of 2018. (Marino)
On the Beat:
A Pennsylvania teen girl and her friends have admitted to pulling off a hoax relating to the release of the new STEPHEN KING movie "It."
17-year-old PEYTON REIFF says she and her friends were trying to scare other kids when they planted several red balloons near sewer grates in the town of Lititz. Reiff says they were inspired to pull the stunt after seeing the trailer for "It." The movie features a killer clown named PENNYWISE who lives in the sewer and uses red balloons as a calling card.
Local police were initially concerned by the appearance of the balloons but the girls aren't in any trouble. (Still) -
