Fast Food:
Australians have been told to go ahead and eat kangaroo meat after the population of Wild kangaroos has grown so much that it's almost double the population of humans there. In 2010, there were only 27 million of the animals, but by last year, the population had grown to almost 45 million.
Although kangaroos are a protected species in Australia, as well as the country's national animal, there are so many of them that they are widely regarded as pests, but eating their meat still remains quite stigmatized.Fashion Emergency:
PAULA ABDUL is planning to launch her own fashion line! The singer-choreographer and former "American Idol" judge told the New York Post, "I'm going to be working to be working on what is very near and dear to my heart and in my wheelhouse: activewear, dancewear and athleisure." (Bartha)
On the Beat:
A police officer in Canada was attacked by butter knives.
It all started when an apartment manager in St. Thomas called the cops to report a former tenant was trespassing. When police entered the unit in question, the door triggered a booby trap that sent butter knives flying. An officer was hit in the chest and the hand "with quite a bit of force." Police say the booby trap wasn't very sophisticated but was definitely built to cause harm. A spokeswoman says, "Looking back we can have a bit of a laugh, but at the time, it wasn't funny." (Still)Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
LADA GAGA suffers from fibromyalgia. The Mayo Clinic says that's a disorder that causes muscle pain all over the body, as well as fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Gaga revealed this in a Tweet yesterday, and you get to see her treated for it in her new documentary, "Gaga: Five Foot Two." Her Tweet says (quote), "In our documentary the #chronicillness #chronicpain I deal w/ is #Fibromyalgia I wish to help raise awareness & connect people who have it." (Marino)
