Damage Control:
A few SELENA GOMEZ fans ain't too happy she's starring in a new WOODY ALLEN film. As you know, the director has been accused of sexually abusing his stepdaughter DYLAN FARROW and some young ladies have taken aim at the actress on social media. In fact, one Instagram user requested that Selena's mother, MANDY TEEFEY, make her write an apology and mom is firing back. Ms. Teefey says that "no one can make Selena do anything she doesn't want to," she had a "long talk" with her about Mr. Allen and the convo "didn't click."
In related news, sources tell Us Weekly that the popular starlet made a sizable donation to the #TimesUp movement that was more than her salary for the flick. (Lee)Chic Sh*t:
The black dresses and tuxedos worn by the stars at the Golden Globes are being auctioned off on eBay to raise money for the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund. TheCut.com says Condé Nast and eBay partnered up for the fashion fundraiser. Thirty-four (34) outfits in all were donated by the designers, include LAURA DERN's Armani dress, MERYL STREEP's Vera Wang, and KERRY WASHINGTON's Prabal Gurung, as well as HUGH JACKMAN's Brioni suit, JUDE LAW's St. Laurent and SETH MEYERS Valentino tuxedos. Three of the dresses will be sold via a "sweepstakes" where people can donate $25 for a chance to win. The auction goes live this Friday at 9 a.m. Eastern. (Bartha)
Wasted away again in Margaritaville:
If you enjoy flying unmanned aerial drones, you'd better put down that beer.
New Jersey just passed a law making it illegal to pilot a drone while under the influence. The blood alcohol limits for piloting a drone in New Jersey are now the same as driving a vehicle. Violators could get six months in jail and a $1-thousand-dollar fine. At least thirty-eight states are considering adding restrictions on drone piloting this year. (Still)Pilot news:
Wotta surprise --MICHAEL WOLFF's book, "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" is being made into a TV series.
The Hollywood Reportersays the company Endeavor Content has picked up the film and TV rights to the best-seller, which was sold out at bookstores in several major cities the day it was released.
Trump has repeatedly attacked the book as being false, although Wolff said that he based the book on more than 200 interviews, and had access to the White House and Trump himself. The book also includes quotes from former White House chief strategist STEVE BANNON, who called the 2016 meeting between DONALD TRUMP Jr. and a Russian lawyer "treasonous."
No word on casting for the series yet.
