On, off and way-off-Broadway:
A musical based on the life of FRANK SINATRA is in the works. Playbill.com says DANNY STRONG is writing the book for the show which should be ready by 2020. Danny is also doing a new adaptation of the ABBA musical, "Chess" for the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., next month, and the screenplay for ICE CUBE's upcoming big screen remake of "Oliver!"Danny said (quote), "Sinatra is one of the great talents of all time and his fascinating and powerful story will make for a terrific stage musical."
FYI: Yes, that was Danny whose character had his skin turned inside out by Willow the witch on TV's "Buffy The Vampire Slayer."(Marino)Stars and their movies:
Disney animated heroine MINNIE MOUSE is getting a star this morning at 11:30 am (Pacific) on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in front the El Capitan Theatre. Disney CEO BOB IGER and KATY PERRY will be speaking at the dedication.
In case you didn't know, Minnie is not the only animated figure on the Walk of Fame-- they include Donald Duck, Tinker Bell, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Kermit the Frog, and, of course, Mickey Mouse, who received his star in 1978 in recognition of his 50th Anniversary at that time. This would be her 90th anniversary. Plus, she has 50 films to her credit as well (!!!).Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
DRAKE is mourning the one that got away and her name is (wait for it...) JENNIFER LOPEZ! The rapper revealed on a new song called "Diplomatic Immunity" that: "2010 was when I lost my halo/2017 I lost a J-Lo." Rumors began swirling about a year ago that they were hot and heavy, but he was caught leaving a restaurant with in Amsterdam with a former X-rated star named SOPHIE "Rosee Divine" BRUSSAUX.
The adult actress claimed she was carrying his child in May, he denied the story and anyway, Jennifer is happily coupled with up with ALEX RODRIGUEZ. (Lee)Space, the Final Frontier:
No --a big scary asteroid is not --repeat not-- going to hit the Earth next month. The Washington Postsays the rumors that we are all gonna die on February 4th are largely fueled by the British tabloids that shared headlines like "Fast and Dangerous" with illustrations of an "Armageddon"-sized asteroid hurtling toward our planet.
Here's the real deal: Yes, there is an asteroid that will pass by the Earth on February 4th. Yes, NASA has categorized its size as "potentially hazardous." But asteroid 2002-A-J-129 will not be hitting the Earth. It will fly by no closer than 2.6 million miles from Earth. NASA says they have been tracking this asteroid for over 14 years and know its orbit "very accurately." The asteroid has "zero" chance of colliding with Earth on February 4th --or at any other time over at least the next 100 years. (Bartha)
