Fashion Emergency:
JENNIFER LAWRENCE is calling "ridiculous" the social media uproar over pictures of her posing outside in the cold with lots of bare skin in a deeply-plunging Versace dress while her male "Red Sparrow" co-stars were wearing nice warm coats. The Hollywood Reportersays the pictures were initially called out with critics calling it a double-standard, with claims Jennifer was "not allowed" to wear a coat in the cold while her co-stars were.
But in a Facebook post yesterday, the actress says she's "extremely offended" by the criticism. "That Versace dress was fabulous, you think I'm going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf?" Jennifer added, "This is sexist, this is ridiculous, this is not feminism. Overreacting about everything someone says or does, creating controversy over silly innocuous things such as what I choose to wear or not wear, is not moving us forward. Everything you see me wear is my choice. And if I want to be cold, THAT'S MY CHOICE TOO!" (Bartha)Look for EMILY RATAJKOWSKI appearing topless on the cover of the March Vanity Fair magazine. However, you may not see it, since it's the cover of the Spanish edition. Vanity Fairshowed off the shot on its Instagram page yesterday.
It's not the first time she's done a risque picture --she posted a topless selfie with KIM KARDASHIAN in March two years ago.Today's police blotter:
Cops in Pennsylvania responded to reports of a dinosaur on the loose.
Police in East Lansdowne said they didn't panic when they got a call about a Tyrannosaurus rex walking through town. Their investigation revealed it was just a parent who dressed up like the prehistoric creature to walk their kid to school. Officers radioed back to dispatch to say there was "No problem." (Still)School daze:
Probably not a good idea to have a faux gun as your phone case, especially at a school in Florida.
Deland High School in DeLand, Florida, went on lockdown Tuesday after a student, who's 14, was thought to have brought a handgun to school. Turns out that the "gun" was a phone case with a fake gun attached to it.
The case was bright pink (see it here) and Police Chief JASON UMBERGER said "Just boggles my mind when I think about these cell phone companies manufacturing look-alike guns. It's just shame on them, when you think about it. What is the purpose of making something like that?"
The student was taken into custody without incident and the lockdown was lifted. (Myers)
