On, off and way-off-Broadway:
LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA and BEN PLATT will be in Washington, D.C., tomorrow for the March for Our Lives. The Tony winners are set to perform their mashup, "Found/Tonight" that brings together tunes from "Dear Evan Hansen" and "Hamilton." Proceeds from that download are going to the March for Our Lives cause. You can stream the event on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. (Marino)
Fashion Emergency:
Fans of CYNTHIA NIXON's character on "Sex and the City" have already created a t-shirt to show support for the actress' run for New York state governor. Peoplesays the founders of the "Every Outfit on SATC" Instagram account have created shirts that say "We Should All Be Mirandas." The simple message tee appears to be inspired by Dior's popular "We Should All Be Feminists" t-shirt. Currently, the shirt sells for $32 dollars with 15 percent of proceeds being donated to Cynthia's campaign. It's already a popular item: It's back-ordered until April 11th. (Bartha)
Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
STEVE MANDELL, the guitarist half of "Dueling Banjos" has died. The New York Times says he had prostate cancer and died on March 14th. He was 76. Steve and banjo player ERIC WEISSBERG did the soundtrack to the creepy 1973 movie, "Deliverance," and that cheery single got all the way up to number 2. RONNIE COX and that weird kid in the tree mimed to Steve and Eric's track in the film. The tune is actually "Feudin' Banjos," written by ARTHUR "Guitar Boogie" SMITH, and he recorded it first with DON RENO in 1955. THE DILLARDS made it famous by performing it on "The Andy Griffith Show" in 1963. (Marino)
