It looks like students in New Jersey broke a Guinness World Record.
The Somerset County 4-H Club weaved together a hundred pounds of old bed sheets to create a braid that measures nearly a mile long. The braid was unveiled Sunday at the Bridewater Commons mall and it measures 5,217-feet. A textile expert was on hand to oversee the measurements and make sure the braid complies with Guinness specifications. Officials with the Guinness Book are reviewing the evidence before announcing whether a new world record has officially been set. The previous for the longest textile braid is 2,265-feet.
