Trendspotting:
The hottest trend in skin care is also a popular summertime snack. Watermelon is having a moment, according to Refinery29.com. The juicy fruit is --as the name suggests-- packed full of H-2-0 (92 percent to be exact). But its benefits go way beyond hydration --watermelon is also full of other ingredients good for your skin. That includes the amino acid citrulline, which improves blood circulation and works as a natural exfoliator; and lycopene, which is an anti-inflammatory. Suitable for all skin types, watermelon is especially good for people prone to breakouts, redness, or dry and flaky skin. (Bartha)
London tabloids:
Warning: note sexual content.
MEGHAN MARKLE and PRINCE HARRY may have put off their honeymoon, but are still enjoying the benefits of marriage. Sources tell HollywoodLife.com that the royal groom asked his new bride to "take out the goalie" --or go off birth control-- so they can have children and they're enjoying hot, baby-making bedroom action. Word is the missus is "overwhelmed with joy," has "never been happier in her entire life" and fully embracing her new life in the royal family. (Lee)The President at play:
A federal judge in New York City ruled yesterday that PRESIDENT TRUMP cannot block Twitter users for their expressed political views. Judge NAOMI REICE BUCHWALD ruled that blocking users from viewing his Twitter account is unconstitutional and a violation of the First Amendment.
She wrote, "While we must recognize, and are sensitive to, the President's personal First Amendment rights, he cannot exercise those rights in a way that infringes the corresponding First Amendment rights of those who have criticized him."
The case had been brought by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University. (Pacelli)Trolling for IQ points:
If someone can't tell if you're a robot or not in person, you might want to maybe not wear so much makeup.
MARCI ROBIN went into a Florida car dealership to buy a Fiat 500x. While she was signing the papers, she was asked, was she a robot?
Now, this is normal on websites, to make sure no one is trying to rip off the site, but in person?!??
Robin was surrounded by salespeople that could see that she wasn't a robot. "The sales guy was handing me paper after paper with a brief explanation of what each one was for, and then he handed me that page --with literally nothing else on it-- and just mater-of-factly said, 'And this one is just to ensure you're not a robot'."
He told her that he couldn't complete the transaction unless she checked the box. She did, but even the salesman admitted it was odd. Although when contacted and asked about selling a car to a robot, they admitted that they would, as long as said robot had a social security number. (Myers) -
