Lotsa comments over the report that "Star Trek" vet PATRICK STEWART will reportedly play a "Bosley"-like character in the upcoming "Charlie's Angels" reboot starring KRISTEN STEWART and ELIZABETH BANKS (who also plays one of the multiple Bosleys). That's because Charlie Townsend's detective agency is now a security and intelligence agency, with branches all around the world --each of them with its own "Bosley" to act as the local liason for the branch. NAOMI SCOTT and British actress ELLA BALINSKA will play the other two "Angels" in the film, which is due out next September (2019).
Yesterday was Free Cheeseburger Day --but at McDonalds, a slightly different story, because staff members at several of their restaurants across the country walked out. The protest was over claims that Mickey D's is not doing enough to prevent sexual harassment, after 25 women filed complaints claiming they were ignored by management after reporting incidents including groping, indecent exposure and lewd comments. McDonald's already has a company-wide sexual harassment policy but the women say their management ignored their abuse.
Bloomberg News says Coca-Cola's looking into putting cannabis into drinks. Before you get your panties in a wad, the ingredient they'd be using is CBD --a cannabis compound that reportedly has anti-inflammatory, anti-nausea, anti-seizure properties, and because it doesn't make the user "high" like THC, another cannabis ingredient, it could be marketed as a "functional wellness" beverage. A Coke spokesperson says there've been no decisions yet, but Bloomberg says the drinks may be tested up in Canada, which just legalized recreational marijuana.
As long as we're on food news, it appears Heinz is coming out with "Mayochup," a Heinz bottle of mayonnaise mixed with ketchup. Already out in the Middle East, the stuff will be rolled out later on Amazon and at Walmart in a 16-ounce squeeze bottle.
Considering a Tesla but worried about how far you'll be able to go on a single charge? Tesla rolled out a network of charging stations at strategic locations all across the United States, but as of this week, the free charging for Model S and Model X owners is over. Engadget says current Tesla owners who previously enjoyed unlimited charging will still be able to do so as long a they hold onto their vehicle and don't sell it. But new owners won't be able to hit the increasingly congested charging stations for free. And if you're one of the original owners who got free charging and you sell the car --the new owner won't get the free unlimited Supercharging and Supercharging credits.
More details on how "The Conners" will be killing off ROSEANNE BARR's character this fall. Roseanne, who appeared on a recent episode of Brandon Straka's YouTube show, claimed her character will die from an opioid overdose, and added that she believed the network's decision to have her character die that way was is an insult to the fans "who loved that family in that show." But, she said, "there's nothing I can do about it. It's done. It's over."
